  1. Prediction types
    1. Match odds
    2. Match odds: Odds are strictly on the games' outcome. There is more money risked too create a prediction on a better team or less money on the weaker team.

For example: The money line is 1.5 (decimal odds) or -200 (American odds) on Real Madrid FC, since they have a better chance to win the game. That means a player would have to wager $200 sDollars to win $100 sDollars.

    3. Spread (point spread)
    4. Spread (point spread): ): predicting a scoring differential between two opponents. Another way to determine the spread winner is to add points from one team to the other after the event is played.

For example: Mike predicted against the spread that the Lakers (-4) would beat the Celtics. That means the Lakers would have to win by more than 4 points for Mike to win the prediction.

    5. Under/Over
    6. Under / Over: A prediction on whether the total points or goals scored by the two teams will be over or under a specified number.

  2. Odds format
    1. Decimal odds
    2. Decimal odds are essentially equivalent to the decimal value of the fractional odds, plus one. You simply multiply the value of your prediction by the decimal odds value and you will have the amount of money you will receive if your prediction is correct.

For example, if the decimal odds are 2.00 and you placed a prediction of $100 sDollars, you will receive $200 (2.00 x $100) sDollars total if your prediction is correct.

      Decimal Odds

    3. American odds
    4. American odds offers two possibilities: the figure quote can be either positive or negative.
Negative figures: If the figure quoted is negative, the odds are quoting how much money must be wagered to win $100 (this is done if the odds are worse than even).
Positive figures: If the figure quoted is positive, the odds are quoting how much money will be won on a $100 wager (this is done if the odds are better than even).
Even odds: Even odds are quoted as +100 or -100

For example, your NFL team is the favorite and is paying -110 to win their game this weekend. If you placed a $110 sDollars prediction on them and they win, you would receive $100 sDollars winnings, plus get your original $110 sDollars back for a total of a $210 sDollars payout. The American odds for an underdog prediction works by showing how much you would win if you risk $100 sDollars. If the odds offered on a particular event is +240, it means that in order to win $240 sDollars, you would need to risk $100.

So if your team is an underdog in their upcoming game, and the odds are +240, it means your wager of $100 sDollars on the team to win the game would get your original wager of $100 sDollars plus $240 sDollars of winnings for a total collect of $340 sDollars.
